Still the villains of the piece

A comfortable 3-0 win, against a side that weren’t really much of a threat going forward.

The loss of Laurent Koscielny before kick off was a worry, but Johan Djourou was steady, if unspectacular.

Mikel Arteta proved yet again why he is statistically the most consistent midfielder in the league, alongside that he produced one of the best free kicks you will see this season. Arteta is proving to be possibly the best £10 million Arsene Wenger has ever spent.

Theo also continued his resurgence and Ox’s 10 minute cameo proved that Walcott will need to keep on his toes to keep his place.

All of this and still we are the villains of the piece.

3-0 win, 60% possession, 20 shots to Villas 3, 15 corners etc and still we are criticised for not killing off teams, not scoring enough goals, not defending and well generally not being good enough.

We put seven past Blackburn and it’s passed off as expected. We dominate Milan, score three and all you hear is, “well we shouldn’t have conceded four in the first place’.

We have now won seven in a row, we are three points ahead of the Spuds (from being 10 behind), eight points clear of the Chavs and the press and pundits still bleat on about Spurs bad luck and how Arsenal are not worthy and are only in this position due to the failing of others!!!

The villains of the piece!!!

I suppose I shouldn’t expect anything different, it’s been like this for years and probably always will be.

Arsenal and Arsene don’t get credit for what they have achieved.

Why?

1. Because we don’t conform.

2. Because we don’t spend a fortune on the latest superstar every season. We make them, we don’t buy them.

3. Because we only spend what we earn. We live within our means.

4. Because our manager isn’t a ‘good ‘ol British pro’, brought up playing on Hackney Marshes.

5. Because we think outside of the box and do things differently.

We don’t fit the football club template and a lot of ex-pros and pundits don’t like that because it scares them.

Oh well, let them bleat on.

We are The Arsenal, we will do it our way and we will always be here, no matter what.

Some may say it doesn’t always work, but I know where I’d rather be, and I know of at least 89 other clubs who would like to be in our position too.

The Press have never forgiven Arsene for 2 things.
First when he joined the experts predicted that he would fail as no foreign manager could understand the British game.
Second, when the Paedo lie arose (by the way what is Caesar the Geezer doing these days?) Arsene treated the “gentlemen” of the press with the contempt the so richly deserved.
