Mikel Arteta firmly believes Robin van Persie will remain at Arsenal, despite strong interest from several of Europe’s elite.

The 28-year-old striker has been in sensational form for Arsenal, netting 28 goals in 31 matches so far this season.

But with the Dutchman’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2013, everyone associated with the club fear that he could be the next big star to leave The Emirates.

Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and both Milan clubs have all been linked with the striker in the past few months.

However, Arteta insists the Holland international will be apart of the Arsenal line-up next season.

According to talkSPORT, The Spaniard told Catalan radio station COM Radio:

‘I do not see van Persie leaving Arsenal.

‘He is completely unaffected by interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona and not thinking about his contract renewal either.

‘Now he is very calm and is not nervous about anything. I know he has said that in the summer he will consider things, talk it over and take the decision that he will take.’

Van Persie has stated that he will only discuss his future at the end of the season, and despite recently proclaiming himself as ‘a true Gunner’, I worry, especially if our season go tits up, that the Dutchman could still leave.

Until I see him commit his long-term future to us, the uncertainty will remain. Na$ri jumped ship last summer after dismissing rumours he was leaving Arsenal, hopefully history won’t repeat itself with RVP.
