Has he finally turned a corner?

Arsenal have been on a really nice run of form as of late, which has seen us come from behind on four separate occasions to acquire all three points.

Everyone in the squad seems to be gelling and playing well together, and we finally look like a team. For me the most notorious change in form has been that of Theo Walcott, who has had a lot of stick this season for failing to hit the target and perform consistently. Perhaps this has lead to a loss of confidence for him which has taken him a long time to recover from, but it does seem like we are now finally seeing the real Walcott stand up.

Robin van Persie has been defending Theo for the past few months, saying he knows that the 22-year-old Englishman will score goals and that he has the making of a great player, and if recent weeks are anything to go by then it shows just how important Van Persie is to our club.

Having watched the games carefully, Robin has made sure to put balls into Theo where possible and gives him chances, and slowly he has built up his confidence to the point that he is at now where he can run at defenders and play the balls that we all know he can when he is on form. It maybe early to say if Walcott has in fact turned a corner, but assuming that the positive vibe within the club can continue then I see no reason why Theo cannot continue going from strength to strength.

I have given Theo stick this season and cast my vote to give him a new contract on the latest Gunnersphere poll and I stand by that, regardless of what happens from here on out. I hope the speedy winger signs a new deal and can continue to work well with Robin and Thomas Rosicky, who have all been in tremendous form recently.

Arsenal take on Everton tonight, looking to get another three points on the board to keep the pressure on Tottenham, who entertain Stoke. With just one point separating third and fourth, a slip up by Tottenham could result in Arsenal jumping above them in the Premier League.

Let’s hope this ensues and Walcott shows us even more tonight at Goodison.

Hay guys don’t know if this is old news but arsenal Representatives have been seen at the signal iduna park ( home of Dortmund)

I wonder why that is LOOL

Walcott started the season well. its no coincidence that hos form is back now he has Sagna behind him and not donkeys like Djourou.
Top player Theo – first choice every time.

In walcott’s case simply put. Walcott’s footballing brain slows when Arsenal overall game pace is slow.
Whenever arsenal are on form and up to pace Walcott delivers

SORRY TOMMY & SCOTT, YOU ARE BOTH CHATTING A LOAD OF RUBBISH. I AM SURE YOU WERE SAYING THIS ABOUT THEO IN THE FIRST HALF AGAINST SPURS(NOT!). WALCOTT CAN ONLY SCORE WHEN THERE IS NO PRESSURE – HE HAS BEEN POOR ALL SEASON BECAUSE HE IS CRAP! TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THESE AREAS OF HIS GAME. DRIBBLING, BEATING A DEFENDER, PASSING, CROSSING & BALL CONTROL – NOW LOOK AT OXO IN THE SAME AREAS.WALCOTT IS POOR IN ALL THESE AREAS. STOP BLAMING OTHER PEOPLE AND LOOK AT THEO & PERHAPS THEO SHOULD STOP RUNING INTO DEFENDERS WITH THE BALL AT HIS FEET

Theo improved massively last season compared to the one before. I was worrying a bit at the start of this season, but he’s looked really good during the past few games. I’ve never been his biggest fan, but when on form, he’s difficult to stop. He was given too much responsibility at arsenal, too soon, but I agree wiht RVP that in future seasons, he could well be a 20-goal-per-season attacker. His consistency problem remains, but it is slowly improving. I think we all saw the incredible rise of players like cesc and wilshere and song, and started to believe that every player should improve at the same phenominal rate. Not everybody becomes so good, so quickly. My issue has always been with the level of playing time and responsibility theo was given at too young an age. He should never have played so frequently 3 or 4 years ago because he was a million miles from ready. Now he’s starting to deal with it a bit better.

“WALCOTT CAN ONLY SCORE WHEN THERE IS NO PRESSURE”
Well, there was pressure against Chelsea this season, and he did it. He scored against CHelsea in the CC final when he was a child, hat-trick for England, the run to set up adebayor in the CL??? I usually hate it when people list these, what are in reality, minor achievements, because consistency is more important, but you can’t take away the fact that he did these things. And even if he hasn’t scored in high pressure games so much this season, chelsea aside, he has set up goals and been a problem in plenty of them.
