Bacary Sagna has told Arsenal target Eden Hazard it would be an ‘error’ to sign for Spurs this summer, and hopes the in-demand Belgian starlet joins him at The Emirates instead.
The 21-year-old Lille sensation, who revealed that he would fancy a move to the Premier League in the near future, has been heavily linked with a move away from Ligue 1 side this summer, and Tottenham are the latest team to express their interest in his services.
However, Sagna believes Hazard would be making a grave mistake if he signed for Arsenal’s rivals.
The French full-back was quoted in the Daily Mirror saying:
‘I think it would be an error for him.
‘I watch the French League and Hazard is an excellent player. It would be a major signing for Arsenal, but it’s up to different people to decide his destination.
‘He needs to reflect and make the choice of club for the style of football.
‘If he goes to Spurs, he will be an enemy for me.
Despite not wanting the youngster to sign for Spurs, Sagna reckons the Belgian international possesses all the credentials required to play in the Premier League:
‘Hazard has the perfect profile for the Premier League because he has swiftness, is a very good dribbler and is able to find spaces for team-mates.
‘He is a player who can change the rhythm and provoke problems in defence.’
I agree with Sagna, Hazard, the cousin of our very own Thomas Vermaelen, should snub Spurs for Arsenal! If he wants to develop in the right way and become a future world-beater then Arsenal is the place to be.
I also agree with Bacary when he says Eden would suit the Premier League perfectly. The young forward has the pace, skill and technical ability to perform and shine in supposedly the best league in the world.
But if for some reason Hazard doesn’t sign for us in the summer, then I truly hope it’s not for Spurs!
