Bacary Sagna believes Arsenal can catch Tottenham and claim third spot following their sensational result yesterday afternoon at The Emirates.

The Gunners pulled off an outstanding comeback after going two goals down to eventually beat Spurs 5-2. The result leaves Arsenal just 7 points behind their local rivals who currently occupy third spot.

However, Sagna, who scored Arsenal’s first goal, reckons the possibility of finishing above their local rivals is achievable this season, but only if they remain focused on the task at hand.

After the game, the French full-back said:

‘Of course we can catch them. We just need to play game-by-game without thinking about what will happen at the end of the season.

‘We still have time to come back. We have dropped points and now we have to stay professional and play like we did today.

‘We are not far, we have to keep playing and focus on every game until the end of the season and we will make it.’

After that particular result and performance from the lads, I, like Bacary, truly believe we CAN finish above Spurs, but only if we play like we did yesterday and results go our way.

There are still 12 games left to play (36 points to be had) and we’re only 7 points behind ‘Arry’s team – why can’t we finish above Spurs, who still have to play United (H), Everton (A), Chelsea (A) and Sunderland (A), as well as others.

I just hope complacency doesn’t creep in after yesterday’s outcome. We need to remain focused and take one game at a time from here on in. If we can do this and get the results we want, then I am almost certain that we WILL finish third and above the Spuds!

Of course they can, if every other team arsenal play don’t turn up as well! If they let arsenal play without closing them down, if there players don’t perform and have an off day, they defend as poorly as spurs did and each arsenal goal comes from a defensive mistake then yes arsenal can!
