Light at the end of the tunnel?

Well the good news is that we may have some players back for Sunday’s FA Cup game against Aston Villa, maybe even two full backs.

Jack Wilshere should be back sometime in February, despite a setback, along with Geo returning from the ACoN, so things are looking up!!! (Had forgotten about Diaby, at least he’s keeping the docs’ busy).

Here is a run down of our injured players and when they are likely to be back:

Thierry Henry – calf muscle strain – 2 days.

Mikel Arteta – calf/shin injury – 2 days.

Francis Coquelin – hamstring injury – 5 days.

Andre Santos – sprained annkle – 6 weeks.

Abou Diaby – hamstring injury – 7 weeks.

Carl Jenkinson – stress fracture – TBC.

Kieran Gibbs – inguinal hernia – 3 days.

Bacary Sagna – broken leg – 3 days.

Jack Wilshere – ankle/foot injury – 3 weeks.

We will have to wait until Tuesday to see if the rumours floating around regarding Eden Hazard and Jan Vertonghen have any substance. Personally, both would be top signings for the club and would come close to providing a squad with cover in all positions, but would still leaving us short of cover for RVP – here’s hoping he doesn’t get injured.

Keepers – Szczesny, Fabianski.

Defenders – Sagna, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Vertonghen, Gibbs, Santos, Djourou.

Midfield – Song, Coquelin, (Frimpong), Wilshere, Ramsey, Arteta, Benayon, Rosicky.

Forwards – Van Persie, (Henry), Walcott, Gervinho, Hazard, Chamberlain, Arshavin, Chamakh, Park.

Here’s to another deadline day splurge and a reinvigorated squad for the challenge for fourth ahead!!!

Wilshire is still hurt, Ramsey needs a rest, as he looks burnt out. We did not buy…no CL next year by the looks of the current crop nad they way our mid field was school against Man U…still with you Gunners but doubt if I will make another trip to see this type of football.
