Is this man starting to regret his departure from Arsenal?

|

Well we all saw it didn’t we. I was happily, yet casually, watching the Arsenal vs Leeds game when who should appear on my TV, none other than Judas himself Samir Nasri, who was spotted in the stands at the Emirates on the night of Thierry Henry’s sensational return.

However, the Manchester City midfielder wasn’t wearing his trademark cheeky grin. Instead, the Frenchman sat uncomfortably in his seat, and it even appeared that those around him didn’t want to be associated with him, but there he was. Straightaway it got me thinking, does he regrets leaving the club that shot him to fame? And I think if he was to be asked this particular question and answered honestly, I think he would admit that he made a mistake in leaving.

Nasri once had his own song at Arsenal. We cheered him and respected him for what he did and gave to the team. This time last season he was in amazing form and arguably one of the best in the Premier League. But then his head was turned. He got greedy and claimed he wanted ‘success’, but we all know what he left for, the lure of Manchester City’s cold hard cash, promises of Champions League glory and the chance to become a huge star with a bigger wallet.

I was looking into stats so since he joined Man City and saw that he has only played the full 90 minutes on 5 occasions out of 20 starts, has been replaced by a team-mate 13 times, brought on as a sub 5 times, and has actually been an unused substitute on 3 occasions – shocking, especially when compared to Arsenal stats.

Nobody will be surprised by Nasri’s poor form this season and cameo style appearances. With David Silva playing well, Nasri simply doesn’t have the draw that you would expect from a player who cost £24 million. Was it good business on Arsenal’s part? Absolutely!

Man City fans are already starting to question the purchase of Nasri. We all know they are a fickle bunch, but people questioning the club’s decision to buy him isn’t going to help his cause, and soon enough he will end up on the transfer listed paper.

There is no question in my mind that Nasri deserves everything that he has got this season, which so far is nothing. He has gone from being a great player to simply a joke, and if reports are to be believed that he was seen walking round Emirates after the match on Monday, then he may well be regretting his departure from our club.

You did have a chance to get half the response that Thierry Henry got Samir. You had that chance to be forever loved by the Arsenal fans, maybe even one day to be referred to as a legend, but in that one move to Man City, with the money and your comments about the Emirates and Arsenal fans, you blew it mate. You maybe regretting your Emirates exit, but don’t expect any sympathy from myself or any Arsenal fan for that matter.

Should there come a time when you leave Man City, do not think for a second it would be an easy trip back to London to rejoin ‘the Arsenal’, the fans have moved on and, if ever you did comeback, you’d have to prove yourself all over again and apologise to every single Arsenal fan for your ridiculous words against the club.

It is just like the time you see your woman with another man, leaving you alone despite all the love you gave her. I loved your post very much, because I am a real Arsenal fan. Thank you for this lovely post. Good luck 😉

    ARSENAL FOR EVER :X

Would you not leave your job if someone trebled your salary?
don’t judge unless you are willing to be judged. Chodu.

its such a simplistic lazy comment to say “Would you not leave your job if someone trebled your salary?” This isn’t exactly a normal job is it? It’s not like its a 9-5 office job, people idolize them and they have an emotional attachment to the fans (if they have earned it, which Nasri did at Arsenal).
They have the chance to be part of history, with more money then they realistically ever need regardless of what top club they are at. So no, trebling his wages is not the same as you bumping up your £18k to £54k. This is footballl

Agree absolutely!!!! Making $1000 a week is not the same as making $70000 a week……at $70000 u already enjoy more than what life has to offer! I swear, people are stupid with some of their comments!

We all hate what he did he no doubt. But how can you come to the conclusion he regret leaving Arsenal. The Leeds game was special due to the excitement created by Henry’s second debut with the club. Beckham was there and many other familiar faces too. To be frank i don’t see anything wrong for a player to seek higher wages for himself as the career of a footballer is short. If anything Arsenal should restructure it’s salary scale. What can we offer RvP? If he were to leave as well? Are we suppose to have him too? I don’t expect Arsenal to match the salaries other clubs are willing to fork out but at least pay what a top player should get nowadays.

      great response kean
To add on to what you said, Nobody seems to see the players side of it. He was actually winner of the ligue 1 player of the year before wenger bought him. He was already famous and had so much going for him before coming to arsenal so we cant say wenger made him for sure. others can argue that he would have been better at marseille where he would have played all the time at his prefered position rather than at arsenal where he benched for a long time then had to play wing. He also stated he wanted a team that showed commitment to improving and competing for first. Wenger has now lowered our expectations and standards to the point that all we talk about is “being ahead of spurs”. This was always a given but not any longer. How does nasri stay commited to arsenal when arsen is not commited to improving the team by always selling our best and not replacing them/buying shit on the last min. When he said he would stay when he sees improvement on the team we sell our best (fabregas). Blame wenger if anything , you (@admin) the one that’s still hung up on nasri. He is gone but like our coach you cannot just concentrate on our team u must cry about what others are doing. Nasri is a great player with the potential of carrying city to the next level. It will take time but once silva and nasri gel then we will for sure just forget first for many years.

I agree with Chodu. Not easy to turn down a trebled salary.
A fantastic player for Arsenal and I would welcome him back.

it aint hard to turn it down
when your alredy settled and making 80 k a week.

hw did adebayo end up? on loan and will always be on loan becos of the greed for moniiiiiiiiiii………..be careful broda and thk twice b4 doing smthg dat hurts emotionally, remember there is always a pay back..

I think we should focus on Arsenal players, not talk about traitors, that is just giving them too much importance, i hope we beat Swansea !

    • Amrut says:

Agree. But you see there is a sense of satisfaction to see the fellow fail. He always needed a manager who gave him attention. He traded wenger for Mancini. Could there be a bigger idiot.

  • Essien isaac says:

I like dat. I hope wit beat swansea! And one of these seasons to come, beat them again wit a certain Samir nasri playing for them

  • vic says:

Player will always come and go, thats what football is all about the fact that the guy left Arsenal should not make him a traitor pls let be fair.

    • pastor g says:

of course he is a traitor, who knew him before wenger made him, he left for 180k a week, 2yrs down d line he starts earning 30k a week , not smart is it , when he could have earned 100k a week for the next 8yrs at THE ARSENAL

      • sam says:

many that watch football knew nasri was a good player before arsenal and would be a player to reckon with. considered the next zidane, won the player of the championnat at a very young age. you dont watch anything outside epl thats why

  • MG says:

Would I leave my job? No.

Not if I had millions of fans who worship the efforts I put in at my current workplace, and if my current wage was already waaaaay more than what the average man earns. No, I would stay.

You can’t simplify what Nasri did by comparing it to our normal occupations.

    I hope Mancini lists him…

  • fraidtso says:

If I got a job offer with a company that payed me triple then I would indeed have a new job.. However if he looked at playing for AFC as a “job” then I’m glad he’s gone.. I only want players at club that have passion and not just there to make $$$$… Hope he never returns..
