Wolfsburg are preparing to step up their efforts to sign out-of-favour Gunner Tomas Rosicky in January, after the German club’s manager once again underlined his interest in the Czech midfielder.

The 31-year-old is reportedly one of seven players Arsene Wenger is looking to get rid of during the winter transfer window.

Rosicky has been struggling with chronic injuries over the past few seasons and has managed just 7 appearances (3 of which he started) for The Gunners so far this season.

However, Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath, who lead the German club to the Bundesliga title back in 2009, is hopeful he can snap up the ageing playmaker for a small fee next month and remains confident of doing so.

Magath told German newspaper Bild:

‘(Tomas) is a good player, he is fit no question about it. Only a few years ago every top club was after him.’

He added:

‘We lack a top player, one who stands out through performance or personality.’

To be fair, I believe Tomas’ time at Arsenal is up – especially with Coquelin and Frimpong now in the frame – and if we are able to attain a nice sum of cash for Rosicky’s departure this January then Wenger should definitely consider it.
