Why it would be wise for this Arsenal youngster to go out on loan in January

It’s been reported that Emmanuel Frimpong will be made available for loan in the January transfer window, which has alerted the likes of Norwich City and Swansea, who are both keen to seal the youngster on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

Arsenal already have a large number of players on loan acquiring first-team experience and adding Frimpong to the list could be seen as a worrying move by some Gooners who may feel that the club maybe be left shorthanded.

Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey have both enjoyed successful loan spells away from the club in recent years and Arsene Wenger will no doubt be hoping that Frimpong going on loan will develop him into a ‘Patrick Vieira’ style player that he would so like to see back at The Emirates.

In my opinion he is better off on sealing a loan deal, gaining experience rather than sitting on the bench or playing reserve football. With the news that Wilshere’s operation has gone well and him being pleased with his X-Ray results, it is unlikely that Frimpong will get many games even while Wilshere is still injured, and it will be even harded for him to get into the team when the young Englishman returns.

Currently, Frimpong is behind a list of Arsenal midfielders that include the likes of Arshavin, Song, Ramsey, Benayoun and Arteta, who are all fighting for regular first-team places, and at the age of 19, I can only realistically see Frimpong playing in the Carling Cup or in the early rounds of the FA Cup this season.
