Why a potential January swoop for this Lyon midfielder would be pointless

Maxime Gonalons is the next Midfielder in line to be linked with a move to Arsenal.

The 22-year-old Lyon star has previously been linked with a move to The Emirates back in 2010, and reports coming out of France now suggest we may make a move for him when the January transfer window opens.

Personally, I do think it’s a worry that Arsenal are supposedly lining up a move for another relatively young midfielder, especially when the certain players in question are expressing their frustration at the lack of playing time they are currently receiving.

Our very own Jack Wilshere will hopefully back at the end of January/mid February and he will add a new dynamic to our over congested midfield.

The only way I can see Arsenal making a move for Gonalons in January is if we lose Alex Song in the winter or next summer, or if we allow Song to leave the club, a move I would be completely against happening by the way.

Gonalons is a nice, tidy player, but I think we have plenty of options in midfield already, so there would be no need for us to land him in January.

You are saying this as though its a matter of fact. Are you certain that we are buying him? That he is what you say he is? Stop fretting and get on with supporting the club.
