Why Wenger is right to rule us out of the title race

Following on from the 2-1 defeat against Tottenham this past Sunday, Arsene Wenger deemed it fit to officially rule Arsenal out of the Premier League title race:

The Frenchman said:

‘At the moment we have to set ourselves a realistic target to get in touch with those teams who are fighting to stay in the Champions League. To say we will win the league is not realistic.’

Arsenal are already 12 points behind Manchester United and City and have lost 4 out of their 7 games so far this season, and Wenger pinpointed the reason why his team are doing so poorly at the moment:

‘We lack a little bit of confidence at the moment and just want to protect our result too much when we have one.’

Right now I just don’t know where Arsenal, as a team, go from here because we have lost yet ANOTHER big player through injury and unless we do something quick we’re not going to have a season to rescue.

Oh well, At least Wenger is being honest about our title chances this season.
