Sochaux playmaker rules out January move to Arsenal

|

Arsenal target Marvin Martin has ruled out a January move away from FC Sochaux, ultimately leaving Arsene Wenger to consider other alternatives in the winter window.

The 23-year-old was reportedly on the Frenchman’s summer wish list following the sales of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Na$ri, and it is believed that the Gunners are still tracking the progress of the Sochaux playmaker.

It’s been widely reported that Wenger will dive into the winter market following Arsenal’s woeful start to the new Premier League campaign, and Martin’s impressive early displays and form may have persuaded Arsene to launch a bid for the Frenchman when the transfer window re-opens.

However, the 5’7’’ tricky winger insists he has no intention of leaving 10th place Sochaux halfway through a season.

The Paris-born playmaker recently stated:

‘I will not leave this winter. I have started this season for Sochaux and I will finish the season in Sochaux. That is clear and I have discussed it with the management here.’

‘I’m not one to leave halfway through a season.’

I guess we’ll have to wait ‘til next summer to acquire his services then.
