Summer 2011 saw the most exciting countdown to the closure of a transfer window in recent history, with players, club officials and agents rushing to beat the 11:00pm transfer deadline on August 31st.

An amount in the excess of a record £450 million exchanged hands between June 1st and August 31st across various clubs in Europe.

Within the last 48 hours to the closure of the summer window, one club that was most visible in the market, in terms of quality of signings, was Arsenal.

Activities of AFC was simply too visible to ignore due to an aggressive paradigm shift and change in the club’s age-long transfer policy. For many fans, the club’s transfer policy is deemed to be responsible for the Gunners six successive fruitless seasons.

It’s been argued that, should United have beaten Wenger’s side by a narrower margin nearly a week ago, Arsenal would probably have only added an extra midfielder, leaving the rest of the squad as it was.

Considering the excitement of most Arsenal fans, as they anxiously look forward to unleashing the four new debutants against the newly promoted Swansea at the Emirates in 9 days, one could conclude that the Gunners woeful outing against United was in fact a blessing in disguise.

I’d say more of a silver lining to a very grizzly cloud.

I hope he gives all 5 debutants not 4 an outing and puts Chamberlain and Miyaichi on the bench. We are only playing Swansea, we have an 8 goal goal difference to claw back so i would like to see us with at least an even goal difference and 4 points on the board come the final whistle.

We will be missing Jenkinson, Song and Gervinho to suspension and i expect Wilshire & Diaby to injury.

I would go for this line up

    Chezzer
    Sagna Mertesacker Vermaelen Santos
    Arteta Frimpong
    Walc Park Benayoun
    Van Persie

Fabianski, Koscielny, Gibbs, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Chamakh, Miyaichi,

When everyone is fit and free of suspension i would not change a winning team. Make them wait and earn their position.
