Was Wenger right to loan out these THREE Gunners?

It was truly one of the most frantic deadline days in Arsenal’s history – which saw four players arrive at the Emirates, as well as the north London club allowing many of their talented youngsters to go out on loan and attain valuable first-team experience.

The three most noticeable loans were perhaps that of Henri Lansbury, Nicklas Bendtner and new summer signing Joel Campbell – all three of them sealed deals to West Ham United, Sunderland and FC Lorient respectively.

Henri Lansbury, Arsenal’s 20-year-old England under-21 international, was loaned out to West Ham in the dying hours of yesterday’s transfer deadline day.

The young midfielder had told Arsene Wenger that he was keen to leave the club earlier in the summer, after becoming frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities.

Norwich City, whom Lansbury helped earn promotion from the Championship last term whilst on loan, enquired about a possible permanent move for the Englishman, but were put off by his £25,000 a week wage demands. However, West Ham swooped in late yesterday to take the talented youngster to Upton Park on a season-long loan deal, which has the potential to become permanent in the next 12 months.

Nicklas Bendtner, who was desperate to leave Arsenal, finally did, but only on a temporary basis.

The Dane was linked with several clubs during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Hamburg, Sporting Lisbon, Everton, Stoke and Bayern Munich all expressing an interest, but the 23-year-old opted for a late loan move to Steve Bruce’s Sunderland.

Some fans may be upset/surprise to see him leave, even on loan, but the Denmark international is currently out-of-favour at Arsenal and has struggled to get games at the Emirates.

Joel Campbell was also loaned out yesterday evening.

The Costa Rica international only just signed earlier this summer from Deportivo Saprissa.

On August 27th 2011, it was revealed that the 19-year-old failed to obtain a work permit to play in England, therefore Arsenal had to loan him out in order to give him the chance to play regular first-team football.

Many fans may be questioning the decision to loan out these two bright starlets, with the club already lacking strength in depth, but with the signing of five players in the last two days, Arsenal can afford to allow these players to acquire more experience, instead of warming the bench.

The club had no choice with Joel, due to the fact that he could not attain a work permit, Nicklas was no longer in Wenger’s first-team plans, but perhaps a successful loan spell could get him back in the Frenchman’s good books, whilst Henri has still not gotten to the point where he is ready to play for a club like Arsenal on a full time basis.

I believe the club needs to loan out their youngsters, as well as their less impressive performers, in order to allow them to reach their potential and goals.

It worked wonders for Jack Wilshere, who was loaned out to Bolton in 2010, and has now become a first-team regular at Arsenal.

In all honesty I think loaning out Lansbury was a great idea, yes he is going to be a great player however he needs games and he isn’t going to get them at Arsenal this year. So hopefully he’ll get his experience and come back for next season.

Joel Campbell as you say we didn’t really have a choice so lets just hope he gets his work permit sorted next year.

Nicklas Bendtner in my opinion should count himself lucky he even got to southampton after his comments about loads of teams want him…turns out they didn’t and after forcing Arsenal to send him on loan at least I’m glad he’s gone!!

    lool

so what happen with bender and lots of teams after him ?

turns out no one wanted him.

but i think its better him going on lone then us selling him for 5-7 million

am sure he will do well at sunderland
then we should get a few clubs making offers round the 15 mill mark.
consinder how much player are going for and bender is not a bad play he will do well in lower leage likes germany or italy.

henri and cambel honestly i don’t like their loan at least carling cup is there to boost their experience but they will be fine when they come back next season as for BENDTNER please let him go anywhere from sunderland we don’t need him again not a good striker at all.

Wenger was right to loan those players out. But i prefer chamackh to go on loan instead of Bendtner likewise squielasy. Frimpong also need to go on a season long loan, though he is a good and talented player bt he lacks little experience. I remain an Arsenal fan.

Lansbury needs to go on lone in the PREMIERSHIP, not the Championship. He needs Prem Experience.

Chamakh is too valuable to the team to loan out. He would shine in a 442. Frimpong doesn’t need loaning. He is needed at Arsenal and where better will he get experience. He was playing very well and was unlucky to get sent off. The first yellow card of that game was NOT a legitimate yellow card, so his suspension was not his fault.

I´m very happy Bendtner was only loaned out as I think he´ll benefit from a regular run down the middle. We´ll either get a better player back or more money if we sell him next year.

Well it’s gud to loan out these players but wenger shud have include chamachk
