Good news, bad news

As it seems to be the case this season, Arsenal fans have been given some good news that Jack Wilshere’s ankle operation was a success.

However, the Arsenal faithful will be aware that whenever they receive good news it comes with some bad news.

Although Wilshere’s surgery was successful, the England midfielder is likely to be out of action for a further 5-6 months.

Jack announced on his twitter account, @JackWilshere, yesterday:

‘Had my operation and all went well! I am feeling good will spend the night in hospital to monitor me but apart from that I am happy!’

It’s great to hear that his op went well, but fans will be devastated knowing that he’s going to be out until February/early March. However, I’d rather that than risk losing him for the entire season with another injury.

Jack updated his Twitter account this afternoon, he said:

‘Allowed to go home later today can’t wait to get home so my Mum can look after me and give me some TLC!’

The recent news that Wilshere will be out for so long will undoubtedly force Arsene Wenger’s hand when the transfer window opens in January, but until then we will have to try and stay positive and focused on the season ahead.

Let’s just hope that this can be done and we look forward to your return Jack!
