With the search for an ideal replacement for the departed Cesc Fabregas still eluding Arsene Wenger, that coupled with Jack Wilshere reportedly being out of action for a longer period as first thought, The Frenchman is in serious need of adding a midfield maestro to his squad, and it has been recently reported that the Gunners are apparently ‘in talks’ with Valencia to sign Daniel Parejo in January.

After failing to sign Juan Mata and other reported targets suring the summer, Arsenal eventually signed Mikel Arteta from Everton and Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun on loan on the last day of the transfer window to try and account for the missed opportunities. However, opinions and views from the fans have been split on these signings.

Wenger, along with some fans, is desperate to add some creativity to his midfield, with Parejo being seen as the man for the job by Le Boss. However, any deal will ultimately fall through unless the Gunners match Valencia’s asking price. It is believed that Arsenal will not spend more than £5 million for the Spaniard, who spent five months on loan at Queens Park Rangers in 2008, though the La Liga side are likely to value him higher.

I have seen the 22-year-old midfielder in action a few times and I have to say, he is a joy to watch.

He has great awareness, is confident on the ball and has an excellent passing range, plus he’s creative, which could help us sort out our goal scoring problems. He would also add some depth to the squad which, in my opinion, is currently lacking.

According to all the transfer rumours surfacing, January should be a great month for Arsenal. Let’s just hope that Wenger and the board decide its time to break the bank and splash the cash.

Though Parejo is rated at £5 million, which is surely going to be hiked up by Valencia as time goes on, Wenger should not let the chance of snapping up an influential player pass him by.
