What a load of rubbish!

Well that was perhaps the worst defensive display I have ever seen from an Arsenal team. It was shambolic. It was so bad I can’t bring myself to think about it too much. With that in mind, I’ll keep this short.

Adams, Keown, Dixon, Winterburn, Bould and Seaman – that was a defence. The players that were on the pitch yesterday were nowhere near that level. Unless something radical happens in the next three days we can write off any chance of winning the title.

Let’s be honest, the chances of us winning the league this season aren’t good. Three bad results don’t spell the end of our challenge, but if we keep playing this way then we’ll keep dropping points.

We need signings. Promotions from within will clearly not do. We need two new centre-backs. Previously I was calling for just the one, but after yesterday, I think it’s fair to say that we need to radically revamp our back-line. Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka will do.

We need some midfield steel. We had nothing yesterday.

Aaron Ramsey is ever improving, but he’s not ready to lead a title charge.

Tomas Rosicky is good, but he’s not a starter. Arshavin looks like he doesn’t care. We need a defensive midfielder. M’Vila will do the trick.

We had very little creativity as well. We need someone capable in a forward midfield position. There has been talk of Lucho Gonzalez from Marseille and Mikel Arteta from Everton. Whilst the Spaniard is already familiar with the league, Lucho has the height, power and leadership we need. Right now I’ll take either.

For what it’s worth, it sounds like Arsene Wenger has sorted out the backup striker situation by potentially whisking Park Chu-Young away from under the noses of Lille. Going forward yesterday we were ok. Scoring twice at Old Trafford is not an easy thing to do. It’s just a shame our forward players were so horribly let down by the defence.

The next three days will define our season. We can use the thrashing that we received yesterday as a catalyst, or we can let it destroy the team.

Wenger has his work cut out to make sure that the team sticks together and pulls through this.

I believe he can do it, but there are going to be many supporters calling for his head after our recent result. Whilst I wouldn’t knee jerk that far, yesterday has revealed some serious problems at the club. If Wenger doesn’t operate right now, then it may turn out to be terminal.

we have just been ambushed by Man United 8-2 and Arsene Wenger has just said he is sorry” what planet is this man on? how can he say that with a straight face, if i was Arsene and i cared for the fans i would be resigning this morning and letting someone else take over , Sorry, Mr Wenger if you understand what is going on you would reliaze that your time has gone , no more excuses bye bye.. lets bring in Anchelloti and he will do a job for us , ohh by they way take that weak no2 with you Pat Rice ,

  • REN VASSILLIOU says:

Three years we have known we need a repair job with our back four and nothing has been done ,what makes you sure he will fix it in three days ..ha ha ha ..don’t make me laugh .. we have bacome the laughing stock of the whole of Europe , no-one fears us or takes us serious anymore .. because of on man ..WENGER…

Arsene should sign a left back defender as Gibbs never plays more that 6 games in the row. I don’t think his ready for the Premiership.
Walcott, Rosicky,Djourou,Arshavin, Diaby, Jenkinson and Squillaci should be sold if somebody want to give a pound for each player. Arseanal will save some cash by not paying their wages.

wengers gone mad its a s simple as that. 2days to go to sign players. HAHAHA wenger takes months and months to sign players, anyone that thiks we will sign quality players in 2 days is as mad as wenger, i mean quality and not just some random cheap player. Wenow reminds me of comical ali b4 amerca invaded Iraq. He used to come on the tv in front of all the journalists and tell them everything was fine and not to worry, while all the while america were bombing the crap out of them. This is what has hapto wenger, he pretends eevrything is fine after the most brutal destruction of our team and club for over 100+ years, and then says sorry. Its just become farcial.

  • Mr Creosote says:

Lets wait till Weds night before we draw our final conclusions. I’m sure there will be signings. If they’re not good enough then we can all be miffed. Lets hope this debacle was a wake up call and not a sign of worse to come…..

If we are serious about signing we can still do something meaningfull with two days left in the transfer window. I think if we can sign Cahill, Alex, Mvilla and Hazard plus Park Chu Yong whom i believe is our player already, then we can end the drought. If we fail to sign, i am rest assured that the likes of Van Persie will be on there way out. I think we should for a minute stop blaming Wenger for everything. He’s not the one running the club. Where the hell are the so called directors? Are they just mosquito sucking the blood of the supporters just to enrich their pockets? Why are they not saying anything? We have been hearing Wenger has got money to spend in the transfer market for over 3 years but nothing concrete has happened. These people must stop taking advantage of the fact that we love this club so much. We need something to be done and the time is now.

well, well well…..what else is there to say?

Let’s see if David Dein pops up now and still extols Arsene as the man to guide us into the promised land..whatever that is….certainly aint premier league champs, more like mid table chumps!

Will David Deins son lose the pipeline of Arsenal players he then flogs onto Barca if Wenger goes?
    Just a thought!

Enough is enough! Time to get Carlo Ancelloti away from tending to his roses and crocuses and back to managing what used to be one of Europe’s stellar clubs!

Gazidis, is his middle name Stan as well…so, when we hear the phrase silent Stan, is it Gazidiz, Kronke or both?
Lets face, Gaz has done sod all and Kronke even less…
Do we now care if Usmanov takes over and pumps cash into the club ala Man City…

Look at Nasri, how smug must he be this morning…Before, everyone calls his him every name under the sun, ask yourselves one question….would you rather play with the likes of Dzeko, Silva & Aguerro or would you rather play with Arshavin, Jenkinson & Walcott?

I know which team I would rather play in and don’t forget that both Ashley Young and Chris Smalling were both gooners growing up and they both chose Utd over Arsenal..enough said me thinks!

  • Northbanksey says:

Worst defeat of an Arsenal team in 100 years …by the weakest Arsenal team to be fielded in 100 years.
The difference between Man U & AFC is Man U sign young players that are ready to play in the PL, where as AFC sign young players that are not, but are still playing them.

  • Anon says:

Just a shame our forwards were so let down by the defense??

Give me a brake – what exactly did van persie, arshavin or walcott do ?

    we got 2 goals …. let in 8 – so who gives a **** about 2 goals!

The whole team was awful but you would expect the captain and most experienced player/s to pull their weight and help out by organising the defense or helping out in that department.

What a joke… we jenkinson and traore on the pitch – they need help… did they get it from the defense ?
