The time for action is now Mr. Wenger

Arsene Wenger has recently admitted that the summer transfer window has not panned out the way he’d envisaged it, but has assured Arsenal fans that he hopes to sign ‘super quality’ by ‘next week’.

The Frenchman has spent most of this summer attempting to hold on to current squad players rather than adding to it, with Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri both being linked with moves away from the Emirates.

Nothing has yet been resolved with the duo and both will reportedly miss Saturday’s friendly in Portugal against Benfica (not looking good ay).

However, frugal Wenger, who has been unable to add to his trophy collection since 2005, understands the fans growing frustration, revealing that he had hoped to wrap up his summer dealings by now:

‘Ideally I would have finished all [our business], but it doesn’t work like that.’

‘We work very hard, we are non-stop working throughout the summer.’

‘It’s all kinds of things you meet during the transfer market, but I can understand the impatience of people.’

Despite being linked to countless amounts of names, including Juan Mata, Phil Jagielka, Gary Cahill and Chris Samba this summer, Wenger has only spent a combined total of around £12 million on youngster Carl Jenkinson and Ivory Coast star Gervinho.

No other moves have transpired yet, but Wenger has promised the fans that he is working on something that will apparently please the Emirates faithful.

‘We want to add not quality, but super quality.’

‘We hope to give you some good news soon. Next week, something might happen.’

It’s good to hear that Wenger wants to add ‘super quality’ to the squad, but whether he does it is highly debatable, especially if his spending history to go anything by.

Wenger talks a good game, but he needs to back it up with what he’s saying. If he does feel our pain and frustration, then he must sign a much needed centre-back this summer, period.

Out of the players The Gunners have been linked, only Juan Mata would be (in my opinion) a ‘super quality’ signing for Arsenal. However, will Arsene splash £26 million for him…no chance in hell.

There is plenty of time left for Wenger to wheel and deal in the market, 25 days to be exact, but something tells me that he’s going to sign another Sebastien Squillaci to bolster our back-line, or a promising 17-year-old starlet (Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain?).

He needs to deliver the goods this time around, as a number of Arsenal fans are beginning to lose patience and faith with Mr. Wenger.

I remember when arsenal just needed a keeper, and bulldozer in da mid. So we dnt syn nd bam! Mre probz. Ges wat? If we dnt syn nw, mre probz again. Why coudnt we get given at goalz? Why should we change vermalenz positn? Nd nw we lose playaz.. My ideal syngz 4 change in arsenal would b an xperienced good keeper who can talk 2 the back 4, start gibbs, sign samba at 10 mil, vermalen at the bak, sagna, in mid a leader-barton/parke, song, wilshere, mata at 20, gervinho, v.persie. 4-3-3

The guy is a joke we hear this every transfer window and nobody ever arrives he just gives us the same old story that he tried and couldn’t get anybody that’s because he insults clubs with his offers we will struggle to make top 4 at this rate we need players before the season starts!

With current squads – a comparison btw ManU and Arsenal
    Staring XI: Average age 23…
    Szczesny
    Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs
    Song, Fabregas, Wilshere
    Walcott, v Persie, Nasri
Possible Subs: Fabianski, Traore, Djourou, Ramsey, Rosicky, Frimpong, Lansbury, Miyaichi, Arshavin, Gervinho, Chamakh, Vela

ManU Starting XI; average age 27
    de Gea
    Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra
    Valencia, Fletcher, Carrick, Nani
    Rooney, Hernandez
Possible subs: Lindegaard, Fabio, Evans, Jones, Smalling, Park, Giggs, Anderson, Young, Berbatov, Owen, Diouf

Currently, IMO, ManU doesn´t look like the strongest contenders for the title – except for Ferguson… Their RB position is weak and they lack a creative CM. Favourites for this 11-12 PL title have to be ManC.

we have a young squad they just need time to develop so be patient and in a few years we might win something and if we don’t then we can always say that we have a young squad so no harm done.

Wenger, the only reason why the transfer market has not worked out for you is because you are unwilling to pay the money. What really makes me laugh is that in particular he is unwilling to spend an extra 2 million to land players.

We have missed out Alvarez for 9 million because Wenger only wanted to pay 7 million, reports suggest we are only willing to spend 15 million on Cahill when Boltan want 17 million. Stop being to tight fisted and spend the money.

It’s likely we’ll miss out on Mata because they want 26 million when we could have signed him a week ago for 20 million. I just don’t understand why it is taking so long for him to buy players. Mata is a quality player just buy him, even if Fabregas and Nasri stay, still buy him because he could easily get into the first team.

If Fabregas and Nasri leave and we don’t replace them then forget about making a top four finish. And I don’t mean replace them with Barton and Chamberlain because they are not Arsenal quality.

Everyone may says that Wenger is a good manager, but as of late our football is rubbish, we have become a team that plays on the wings, gone of the days when we used to attack through the middle. In my opinion he taking us backwards as a club, not forward. Does he not realize that other big teams like Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool are spending big. We are at major risk of not even making a top four finish, you lot my laugh and I hate to say this but even Tottenham could end up on top of us next season it is the truth. Wenger must spend and spend big or forget about even making the top four.

I fed up with this guy and I want him out.
    WENGER OUT!!!!!

On another note, in past seasons I was only happy if Arsenal win something every season, this season I would be happy with a top four finish, considering other big teams around us have strengthen there squads.
