Arsenal legend calls for Nasri sale

Former Gunner Alan Smith has decided to throw his two cents in on the Samir Nasri situation and to be honest, it’s quite difficult to disagree with his point of view.

Smith, who made over 250 appearances for Arsenal, recently told talkSPORT:

‘I think mentally he’s left the club. It looks as if he is going to go. He’s got a year on his contract and Manchester City are willing to pay 20 odd million. I think you’ve got to sell him.’

A number of Arsenal fans seem to have had enough of Nasri’s flirting with City and unwillingness to sign a new deal at the Emirates. So much so that they decided to chant abusive comments towards the Frenchman last Saturday at St James’ Park. Following this, Nasri decided to hit back at the Emirates faithful by commenting on Twitter:

‘I heard what the fans were singing about me on Saturday and it is really disrespectful because I’m still a arsenal player.’

In all fairness, I agree with Nasri on this as well. At the end of the day the fans should be getting behind the team, not criticising them on a weekly basis.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to work out why many Arsenal fans are frustrated with the French midfielder. His decision not to sign a new contract at Arsenal and affectively force a move to Man City – because they will pay more – has left Nasri as somewhat of an outcast.

It is believed that a move for the Frenchman could be completed within the next 48 hours, leaving Arsenal in dyer need of new signings following the departures of Gael Clichy, Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Eboue.

Realistically, we have seen nothing major from Arsenal in the transfer market and last night we got told that we could lose out on Gary Cahill to Liverpool.

To appease the fans (well most of them) Arsenal must sell Nasri, as he clearly doesn’t want to be here, and use his potential income to strengthen the squad with some quality signings – only 13 days of wheeling and dealing left Wenger.

i agree with selling samir, he wants to leave, sokeeping him till the end of his contract seems silly, as he knows hes going to go anyway, i dont think he would give his all for arsenalinhis final season, so best to cash in on him, luckily we still have loyal arsenal players who play for the badge, we(the fans) need to show them our support, they will need it in the next few matches, be possitive, the positivity will flow to the squad and they will win, but us supporters must stand by them all the way.

He is one of our major player now we cannot afford to lose him,but if we do then all well and good. This serves AW right because when Febs saga started he never take any interest about any othere player again,we could have renew this guy contract when it was two years to go not when it is a year, but because AW was more particular about Fabs he believe other players are puppets.Flamini wasted our time before he ran to AC milan, and lost Diarra able defensive midfielder to other team. Now we are again losing Nasri to Man city am not blaming the guy’cos Nasri asked for contract extension last, but MR AW kept quiet about because he wanted Cesc to stay now where is CESC?We are losing most talented player than Cesc now’cos Fabs plays regularly he will perform, but the skill is Nasri. All accusing fingers pointed to the MANAGER about his case.If you watched our match against Udinese rubbish,we are very lucky not have conceded a goal, because the midfield was porous.Ramsey is very useless and the striker that have been very useless since he came,no good positioning,no good tracking of ball by the midfield.May God save us this season.
