Ex-Gunner Ray Parlour has recently told talkSPORT that Arsenal Football Club is bigger than any player, comments referring to want-away duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
With the Nasri and Fabregas sagas engulfing the north London club’s summer and preparations for the season ahead, Parlour believes that Arsenal must move on and concentrate on retaining Champions League football this week, rather than being distracted by the duos situations.
The ex-Arsenal midfielder said:
‘I look at the situation and it was probably Arsene Wenger’s most frustrating time.’
‘He knew we were that close to winning something and maybe if Arsenal did win something last season [Cesc] Fabregas and [Samir] Nasri might have said we’re going to stay now.’
‘But they won nothing in the end and they have decided to leave which is a shame but it is Arsenal Football Club and it is bigger than any player.’
In my opinion, Ray is 100% right. As I have said in countless articles in the past, no player is bigger than the club and we can survive without both players – hard to believe, but we can.
Parlour mentions that had we of won something last season then maybe they would have both stayed and extra year – I believe Nasri would’ve definitely signed a contract extension, but I’m not too sure if Fabregas would’ve stayed, as he has been fixated on a move back to Barcelona for the past 2 years.

Ray is spot on
That is the first reasonable thing I have read all day. People are painting such gloomy pictures, especially Arsenal supporters, and when it comes down to it, I pretty much agree with Arsene this morning, saying we’re in a pretty good state.
Arsenal are bigger than any one or two players, any day.
It shocked me that even Gary Neville knows that Arsenal is being run the best way and that the club will overconme the sell of this two players.
Why some Arsenal fans are dissolutioned baffles me.
