Arsene Wenger is reportedly preparing a £5 million bid for young French winger Antoine Griezmann.
The 20-year-old, who currently plays for La Liga outfit Real Sociedad, has been targeted by the Arsenal chief following a string of impressive scout reports.
Griezmann has been with the Spanish club since the age of 15 honing his skills and working his way up the ranks. It was only two years ago that the Frenchman managed to break into the first-team set up.
The France Under-21 international, who is primarily a left winger by trade but can also be deployed as a striker, is known for his technical ability, dribbling and quick acceleration.
Despite signing a new five-year deal last season which includes a €30 million release clause, it is believed that Sociedad would consider letting the French youth star depart if healthy offers are tabled this summer.
Griezmann managed to bag 7 goals and 1 assist in 37 appearances for Real Sociedad last season.
If reports are accurate, and Wenger is in fact contemplating a move for Griezmann this summer, then I don’t believe £5 million would be enough to acquire him. Maybe £8 million would seal the deal.

And why are we not linked with Sneijder? In my opinion, better than Cesc, bosses the midfield like no other, even Xavi/Iniesta, there I said it! Surely RVP can have a word in his ear and get him to come over to the mighty mighty Arsenal…?
I think we’ve got to be realistic here mate, Tevez wants a move to Spain or Italy, Benzema wants to stay at Real and Hazard wants to stay at Lille. Wenger isn’t the kind of manager that would sign a big name. Nasri, Fabergas, Henry, Ljungberg, Viera and Pires were all youngsters without a real reputation when we signed them. I think spending 10s of millions of pounds on the likes of Cahill is a waste of money. Griezmann looks like a Pires in the making, I hope we sign him.
