The future of Samir Nasri is dominating talk around the emirates, as he has recently stalled on a new five year deal worth £90k a week.
It is believed Nasri, whom in March admitted ‘it’s not about the money’ during an interview reported in the guardian, is believed to have snubbed the contract and has demanded an extra £20k a week.
I’m not disputing the Frenchman isn’t worth that, in this day and age at least. But he is clearly saying one thing and then the other.
The Arsenal fan favourite is certainly treading on egg shells with the supporters as he is yet to confirm ruling out a move to rivals Manchester United.
During the Interview he said:
‘I’m not saying I will not play for an English club…except Tottenham.’
‘It’s like in France, I cannot play for Paris St-Germain because I’m faithful.’
(Does he think turning his back on Arsenal and playing for United isn’t unfaithful? He couldn’t be more wrong)
The Daily Mail have today confirmed the clubs majority shareholder Stan Kroenke is ready to cave in and up his wage to the £110k target Nasri is after.
If Arsenal fail to cough up and meet the player’s demands they can be certain plenty of clubs will. As the summer starts Arsene Wenger will look to reinforce his squad with the steel needed to be strong enough to compete at the top level, and look to inject what the North Londoners have been missing season after season in their quest for silverware.
With the future of captain Cesc Fabregas also uncertain as it is thought Barcelona will come knocking once again, this time with an offer too good to turn down. The news Arsenal are willing to roll over to Nasri’s request of a pay raise could be seen as insurance for a Fabregas departure?
Arsenal paid just over £15m for the attacking midfielder from Marseille in 2008, and his current contract is set to expire next summer.
His creative flair has taken the premiership by storm and he is certainly a vital player who Arsene Wenger is keen to keep on the books for the foreseeable future.
It appears the gunner’s boss has it all to do keeping his top players at the club, before shipping in the talent and experience needed for Arsenal to be taken as serious contenders on all four fronts come the new campaign.

if wenger can buy narsi £15 then,while not Gervinho at rate more then £10 so wenger shd do everything possible to sign him
He should get the same as Cesc…It is a new day Arsene. Your wage scale needs re-evaluation. One can argue that the Gunners played better with Cesc out and Samir in the middle then they did when he came back.
Let’s get things in proper perspective. If Nasri’s contract still had 2 years to run, we wouldn’t have all this hooha.
Because it runs out NEXT year, Arsenal have to tie things up now in order to avoid a Bosman.
Nasri, like all football pros, is negotiating for the most advantageous terms possible ….and why not. Careers of footballers are strictly limited.
He mustn’t be pilloried for trying to screw as much money as possible out of his employers.
I wish people could learn when to use ‘whom’ and when to use ‘who’ :-@. It annoys me almost as much as our cowardly manager!

We can let cesc go @ £50million to up £20million then keep Nasri and sign Eden Hazard,Gervnho,Gary Cahill,Samba. That’s what liverpool did. We can do it without Cesc.
