Here are 10 things you should know about Arsenal target Jose Manuel Jurado:

1. Jose Jurado was born on the 29th of June 1984 in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Spain, and was a product of the Real Madrid youth system.

2. He can play as an attacking midfielder, on the left wing, as well as sitting ‘in the hole’ behind the striker. He is regarded as a playmaker that has a fantastic shot off the dribble and great vision.

3. Jurado made his first-team debut on the 29th of October 2005 for Real Madrid in a 2-0 win over Real Betis, before moving to rivals Atlético Madrid on the 4th of August 2006 for a reported €3 million.

4. Real Madrid included a special buy back option in his contract, which allowed the club he option to buy him at the end of the 2007/08 season for €6 million. The clause was never used as he signed a new contract on the 10th of November 2009, keeping him at the club until 2013. Juardo celebrated his new deal by scoring the first goal in a 6-0 Spanish Cup win against UD Marbella on the same day.

5. Juardo’s 2010/11 season was a little puzzling. He started the season off playing with Atlético Madrid, playing 8 minutes during the UEFA Super Cup win against Inter Milan. On the 30th of August he scored his first goal of the season against Sporting de Gijón where Atlético Madrid won 4-0. However, the next day, he was transferred to FC Schalke 04 for €13 million, reuniting him with former Real Madrid team-mate Raul.

Let’s take a look at Jurado in action

6. Jose Jurado scored his first goal for new side FC Schalke 04 on the 2nd of December 2010 in a 2-0 home win against Bayern Munich. In the following match he scored the first goal in a 2-1 win over Benfica in the Champions League from Raul’s assist.

7. His senior international career has been put on hold lately. However, he has played for Spain at Under-16, 17, 19 and 21 level. It is believed that a move to Arsenal could put him in frame for a first full cap for Spain at senior level.

8. Jose Manuel Jurado stands at 5’9″ and possesses a lot of pace on and off the ball. His ability to pick out shots and run at defenders would benefit any team in the world. He also attains very quick reactions, which would cause opposition defenders various problems.

9. His move to Arsenal may depend on what happens with Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, but I do believe that Arsene Wenger has a backup plan on the cards.

10. It is thought that Arsene Wenger would be tempted to make a £7.5 million bid for the Spaniard, which may just be enough to pry him away from FC Schalke 04 this summer.

Wenger should snap him up quick.at least,we’ve always did with having so many players in the same position.

  • Arsenal says:

    He’s not necessary
Why are we looking at wingers when we need defensive mids

  • kyo_9 says:

Swapping him with Rosicky might be a good idea..

  • t says:

let de unsettled fab out wenger has bought every player with is mouth yet no signing are being made yet get a player when u have de chance.the fact still remains wenger is a good coach but too selfish for arsenal. He just keep on making target but yet no signing.get rid of player like diaby, almunia, djourou, bendtener,.get player and a top class goalkeeper likes of akinfee, given, etc.

  • Why knowing about him if he is not needed.Lets spend more time to know about players who are relevant to the team and less on players who the coach thinks are not needed. For any player leaving the squard a good replacement is beter.pls experience is needed in that squard if we are to end trophy drought.
