Will Arsenal take that final step to glory next season as RVP claims?

|

Arsenal’s inspirational striker Robin Van Persie believes the Gunners will take the final step and end the club’s six year wait for a trophy, by winning the Premier League title next season.

It’s been a season of mixed emotions for the North London club. They once again made a promising push for the Premier League title this season, but fell short in recent weeks with draws against Liverpool, Tottenham and a devastating loss to Bolton, making Arsenal’s last weekend’s 1-0 victory over title rivals Manchester United a cruel reminder of what could have been.

The 27-year-old Dutchman was quoted in several newspapers nationwide this week stating:

‘It is time to make that final step.’

‘We came so close a couple of times and achieved a final this year, but we need to play at least two or three finals and be involved in those circumstances.’

‘If you look at Manchester United, we can be better than them but they are most likely in the final of the Champions League, have a big chance of winning the Premier League and were in the semi-final of the FA Cup. We want to be in those positions and it’s up to us to do that.’

‘If you look back at a couple of games this year, like Sunday or against Chelsea, we didn’t let these big games count because we dropped points against other teams. It makes it very frustrating.’

After six trophyless years, next season maybe Arsenal’s last realistic chance of bagging a trophy, as the Gunners may find it difficult to hold onto star players like van Persie, Nasri and Fabregas, if of course the club are unable to get their hands on some form of silverware in the near future.

Can Arsenal take that final step next season as Robin claims?

RVP needs to be patient a bit. The number 10 he is sporting connotes 10 trophy-less years..this is just the sixth year.

Yeah i agree he must be patient… the man is a star and he can help us to glory…. all we need now is a good strong solid back line!!

If we get a solid centre back, a midfielder or winger and a striker, I think we can win the title next season.
