Should Arsenal attempt to sign this young Barcelona striker?

|

Liverpool and Arsenal have emerged as likely destinations for the out-of-favor forward. However, Anfield will not be a favored destination, purely for the fact that they already have Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll amongst the striking ranks. This will ultimately mean that Bojan would take a seat on the bench.

Arsenal will surely be a more desired destination. The striker could also be used as a part exchange with Cesc Fabregas going the opposite way. Blending into the Arsenal set-up will also be easier for Bojan because the Gunners style of play is fairly similar to Barcelona’s.

The Spain international possesses the skills that Arsene Wenger will be looking for in a striker. Bojan has good pace, an eye for a goal, as well as a good passing range and off the ball movement. He has a vast amount of experience under his belt for a player so young, and playing with the best team in the world for the past 4 years has certainly helped him develop.

Having won several trophies with Barcelona, Bojan has the ability to bring the winning mentality, which the Arsenal team are currently lacking at the moment. But signing him is not going to be easy. Acquiring him outright will require nothing less than at least £20 million. Barca will surely like him to be a part of the Fabregas deal because they would be required to pay less cash.

If this deal does go through, then Wenger will have to generate funds from elsewhere if he wishes to obtain other players during the summer window.

Bojan can certainly be the solution to our attacking problems and can form a fantastic partnership with Robin van Persie and young Jack Wilshere.

The Spaniards talents have never been in question and, in my opinion, it would be a real shame if Wenger weren’t to at least enquire about the strikers services this summer.

I don’t get why people want him. He’s not the fastest or the most clinical finisher in front of goal and is certainly not a natural winger. His Barcelona performances have been mediocre at best. I really can’t see a place for him in our formation especially since he’s basically the same type of player as Carlos vela and vela can’t even get in.

I think he is a good player. Arsenal needs quality players to make the difference next season. They need to pump in money to get these players. Enough of drought seasons.
