Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has been linked with a shock move to Arsenal.
According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Buffon has rejected a 50% pay cut from current employers Juventus and will now decide between a move to AS Roma or Premier League Arsenal when the summer window opens.
Arsene Wenger has been widely criticised for his reluctance to buy a ‘world class’ goalkeeper, but the Frenchman may break the trend to bring the world’s most expensive stopper to the Emirates.
The 33-year-old Italian has been with Juventus for almost 10 years now but may be tempted to a switch to the Premier League having suffered two disappointing seasons in succession with the Old Lady.
Buffon has made over 250 appearances for the Serie A side and has won 103 caps for his country.
Is the Italian legend the man to solve Arsenal’s goalkeeping problem?
