Arsenal pursuit Spanish starlet Alex Serrano

|

It has been reported that La Liga outfit Sporting Gijon will attempt to fend off interest, and ultimately, keep hold of Spanish youth starlet Alex Serrano this summer, after the talented striker has attracted a host of clubs including Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea.

The 16-year-old forward is currently being targeted by a number of European clubs. Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be keeping tabs on the youngster, whilst Arsenal and Chelsea are also aware of his progress.

Serrano, the son of former Real Madrid and Sporting defender Mino, has been hugely impressive for the Sporting youth side, bagging goals for fun, but has yet to make the breakthrough into the first-team.

However, due to the mass interest shown in the youngster, Sporting are now hoping to hold talks with Serrano and convince him to sign a new deal with them, rather than opting to move elsewhere.

Although Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea will have the financial power behind them, it would appear that Arsenal may have the edge. Arsene Wenger, the man who nurtures young talent and transforms them into world-class players, will undoubtedly be hoping to work his magic once again this summer.

The Frenchman has already convinced 16-year-old Spaniard Jon Miquel Toral Harper to join the Gunners from Barcelona this season, and who’s to say he couldn’t get Serrano on board during the summer transfer window?

At this moment in time nothing has yet fabricated. Serrano must ultimately decide whether he wishes to remain in Spain, or opt for a future in the Premier League with Chelsea or Arsenal.

However, one thing is for certain, Alex Serrano will be a prime target for many clubs this summer.

I don’t know too much about this player but I suppose he must be good if Wenger is chasing him, then again he has bought rubbish players.
