Young Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru has admitted that he dreams of one day signing for Arsenal, calling the club one of Europe’s biggest.

The African attacker has just broken through at Belgian second tier side KAS Eupen, and has made an immediate impact with a goal and two assists in his first four games of senior football.

Onyekuru’s impact has led to him receiving rave reviews in Belgium and the gifted forward is being tipped for a bright future in the game if he can continue his current rate of development.

When asked about his future ambitions in football, the Nigerian could not hide his admiration for Arsene Wenger’s side.

“I hope to find myself one day in a top club in Europe and to play for my national team,” Sport Witness quote him as saying.

“The shirt I dream of wearing is Arsenal’s because I’ve always had Thierry Henry as a role model since I was little”.

Arsenal put an emphasis on bringing talented young players to North London and signed Onyekuru’s countryman Kelechi Nwakali on a five-year deal earlier this summer.

Although Thierry Henry is the young star’s idol, Arsenal have also had success with Onyekuru’s fellow Nigerian Nwankwo Kanu in the past.
