Olivier Giroud’s agent Michael Manuello has poured cold water on talk that the French striker could leave Arsenal this summer, stating that the forward is committed to the North London club.
A section of the Emirates Stadium support have urged Arsene Wenger to splash the cash and bring a new proven centre forward to the London club this summer.
Giroud has been first choice for the Gunners for a number of seasons but has been subject to inconsistency.
This has meant that other title-chasing sides have had a more prolific number nine, with Arsenal fans turning on the France international at times.
Talk that Giroud could well be included in a deal to bring Gonzalo Higuain to the Premier League has been doing the rounds of late, but Manuello has stated that there is no intention for the burly striker to leave Arsenal before the transfer window closes.
“Everything I’ve read about Giroud is untrue,” Tutto Mercato Web quote the agent as saying.
“I only said that if Arsenal wanted to sell, then we would see, but today he is an Arsenal player and I’d like to stress we haven’t even thought about another project. Not even for one minute.”
Giroud is on holiday currently after featuring prominently for France at Euro 2016.
