WalcottWest Ham are considering a £25 million swoop for Theo Walcott this summer, with the Gunners ready to sell, but only if Jamie Vardy agrees to join the club.

The London Evening Standard claims Arsenal will only let the 27-year-old forward leave if they can tie up a move for Vardy.

Walcott has cut a frustrated figure over the past two seasons or so, but in particular last season as the England international struggled to cement a regular role in Arsene Wenger’s side.

And after 10 seasons at Arsenal, Walcott may decide to seek out a new challenge, with Wenger ready to set him free for the right price.

It is understood the Hammers are keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season and they are thought to be aware of Walcott’s injury record, the forward is entering his peak years and could revive his career at the East London club.

Walcott’s £140,000-a-week wages could pose a problem, but the striker may take a cut to acquire first-team football – something he has struggled to do and as a result did not make the England squad for the upcoming Euros.

If West Ham are willing to give us £25 million for Walcott, we should bite their hands off. He isn’t seen as a first-team starter and has not been able to fulfil his potential. It’s time for him to go.
