Joel CampbellIt’s the fifth day of the January transfer window and we have already seen Lukas Podolski depart for Inter on a six-month loan with a view to a permanent deal, and it seems Joel Campbell could be next out the door with Real Sociedad lining up a move for the Costa Rican forward.

Campbell has found it hard to appear for the Gunners on regular basis since joining the club in 2011 and, as a result, has been loaned out on several occasions already.

The tricky forward has made nine appearances for the Gunners so far this season, but only three of these outings have been as a starter – none of which have been in the Premier League.

This has led to speculation that the 22-year-old could be set for yet another loan move away from the Emirates to increase his game time, not before he signs a new deal however.

Arsene Wenger clearly sees potential in the young striker but cannot guarantee him regular football at Arsenal and believes a loan move would do him wonders.

Several clubs, including the likes of West Brom, Crystal Palace and AC Milan have all expressed interest in the Costa Rican international but, according to Spanish publication AS, David Moyes is working on a deal to take him to Sociedad.

It is thought Moyes has contacted Wenger over a potential six-month loan move for Campbell, with the Scotsman hopeful that a deal can be reached.

It will be interesting to see if Wenger decides to let Campbell leave after recently loaning out Podolski to Inter.

Clearly the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are all ahead of Campbell in the pecking order, and if Wenger believes he can achieve his goals this season without the services of the Costa Rican then the Frenchman ought to let him leave in order to gain more game time and experience under his belt.
