‘Arsenal can’t join this ‘dance of millions’ for him’

|

Arsenal have deemed Croatian starlet Mateo Kovacic too expensive, according to Dinamo Zagreb’s director of sport Zoran Mamic.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who made 7 appearances and netted 1 goal towards the end of last season, is highly regarded as one of Croatia’s hottest prospects at present.

Arsene Wenger has been tracking the young Croatian for quite sometime now and rates him highly. However, Mamic believes Kovacic, who has been previously linked with Ajax, Juventus and Bayern Munich, would be out of Arsenal’s price range if Dinamo Zagreb were to sell their starlet this summer.

Mamic told Croatian publication 24sata:

‘A few days ago I talked with some of my friends from Arsenal. I told them that Mateo is in good form, that he is playing good.’

‘They said that is very good for us, but bad for them. They say that Arsenal can’t join this ‘dance of millions’ for him.’

‘They rate Kovacic very highly but are also afraid that he will be too expensive for them soon.’

This season, Kovacic has made 2 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb, scoring 1 goal as well.
