Much has been reported on Arsenal’s tracking of Juan Mata, and it is looking increasingly likely that Arsenal are going to land the Spanish midfielder in a proposed £19 million deal in the upcoming weeks, especially with the potential sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona.
The question on most Arsenal fans lips is – what could Juan Mata offer to the Gunners?
Well, let’s take a look at exactly what the Valencia man would bring to the Arsenal table:
In my opinion, we need to table a firm bid for him as soon as possible, even if it means parting with £19 million for him – he’s definitely worth it.
It is only a ‘Mata’ of time (excuse the pun) before Fabregas gets his wish and returns to Barca, therefore we need to be ready with a suitable replacement.
We have got reported competition from Liverpool and Tottenham, but let’s be honest, out of the 3 clubs, Arsenal are the only one that can offer the Spaniard Champions League football. Realistically, Mata only has two options: join the Gunners or stay at Valencia, that’s it.
Mata was awarded the Bronze Boot, top assisting player and was also featured in team of the tournament during the European Under-21 Football Championships, which took place earlier this month.
Mata, who can also play on the left wing, possesses a great eye for goal, speed and bags creativity in abundance – all the attributes required to play for Arsenal.
I think he would be the ideal replacement for Cesc Fabregas (not as captain), as I can’t see anybody else out there able to fill our captain’s boots.

Wenger should buy this boy. It is because that fabrigas don’t have competitor in that mid field, that is why he keep making that noise. Allow him 2 join barca and see whether he will still get international recorgnition. FOOL
