Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is serious about making a move for Roma forward Cengiz Under this January.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal with reports suggesting the Gunners have been watching over the Turkey international’s performances in recent weeks.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by TribalFootball.com, claim Mislintat sent a scout to see Under in action for Roma in their 2-1 Champions League defeat to Viktoria Plzen last night where the forward scored.
It appears Unai Emery will enter the market next month for a new forward following the long-term injury suffered by Danny Welbeck next month, and Under is on the Spaniard’s shortlist.
Roma value Under at around £45million and will be reluctant to sell one of their prized assets next month. However, they could see a huge return from his potential sale, having signed him for £11million from Istanbul Basaksehir.
