Premier League side prepare £15m bid to land Arsenal outcast

|

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has focused on rejuvenating the squad he has inherited at the Emirates Stadium but departures are now likely.

Having spent the majority of his transfer budget so far this summer, the Spaniard will have to offload in order to raise funds for further additions and England international Danny Welbeck is tipped for an exit.

According to The SunEverton are weighing up a bid worth £15m for the former Manchester United striker as Marco Silva looks to improve his squad in the wide areas – with 27-year-old Welbeck being a cheaper alternative to Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha.

Welbeck has just one year remaining on his contract with Arsenal and has struggled for consistency since his arrival in 2014, failing to hit double figures in any campaign for goals in the league as he has faced numerous injury problems.

That injury record will be a concern for Everton but an exit for Welbeck is likely as Arsenal are yet to offer a new deal.
