Arsenal have allowed young centre back Julio Pleguezuelo to join Spanish side Gimnastic on loan for the rest of the season, Marca reports.
The Spaniard had been a regular for the club’s Under 23 side this campaign, having made 12 appearances in Premier League 2. He has however not made the breakthrough into the Gunners’ senior side.
It will be Pleguezuelo’s second loan spell away from Arsenal. The 21 year old joined Mallorca for the whole of last season. He initially struggled for game time at the Spanish second division side but started the club’s final nine league games before his return to the Emirates.
No doubt the signing of Konstantinos Mavropanos had a part to play in the former Spanish Under 18 international departing the club. The Greek centre back joined the Gunners from PAS Giannina last month for £1.8m.
Pleguezuelo will again be playing in the Spanish second division. Gimnastic are currently 17th in the league, just ahead of Barcelona B.
