The Daily Telegraph report that the 26 year old is currently on £110,000 a week, but the are only offering £90,000 a week for the player to stay on beyond the end of the season.

Including bonuses, could still earn £110k a week if he stays fit, but it will still effectively mean his basic wage will be approximately 20% below what he has been on for the last six years.

The England has never shown any intention of leaving under his own volition, but there are reports he could be tempted by other more lucrative offers.
