Paris Saint-Germain have been in contact with Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez’s representatives, according to the Mirror journalist John Cross.

PSG had pulled out of the race for the Chilean international but they are reportedly keen to have a replacement for Edinson Cavani lined up if the Uruguayan international quits the French club.

The Ligue One leaders are concerned about staying within UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations and the opportunity of signing a high profile player such as Sanchez on a free transfer in the summer is proving too hard to resist.

The Mirror say that the Gunners don’t believe there is any chance the Chilean will decide to stay at the Emirates, and it will be up to them whether they decide to sell in the January transfer window or let the player leave for nothing in the summer.

This season, Sanchez has scored just two Premier League goals in nine appearances, although it must be said he struggled with an abdominal injury in the first six weeks of the season.
