Barcelona have joined the race for Porto central midfielder Danilo Pereira, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Portuguese newspaper Record believes that Arsenal were pursuing the 26 year old in the summer, along with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Whether the Gunners remain interested in the Portuguese international, it is not known, but Mundo Deportivo say that Barca scouts were in Andorra on Saturday night to watch Portugal face the European minnows.
Danilo played the full ninety minutes in the match with the Euro 2016 winners struggling to overcome their part time opponents. It was 0-0 at half time, but an assist by Danilo for Portugal’s second goal in the second half sealed a 2-0 victory.
Barca are believed to be seeking a player who can do the same job as Sergio Busquets in the heart of midfield with the Portuguese international said to be favoured as a transfer target for his physical strength and defensive characteristics.
