Roma defender Juan Jesus ‘thinks’ Wojciech Szczesny will sign for Juventus this summer, reports Metro.
The Polish goalkeeper has spent the past two seasons out on loan with Roma having lost his starting role to both David Ospina and Petr Cech at the Emirates.
The 27-year-old has shined for the Serie A club and although he will return to Arsenal there are reports circulating that Juventus are keen to sign him this summer as a long-term successor to goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon.
Roma signed Alisson from Internacional last summer to provide competition for Szczesny, but the Brazilian shot-stopper spent most of the season warming the bench due to the Pole’s fine form.
However, Alisson could seize his chance and cement a regular starting role at Roma next season because Brazilian team-mate Jesus reckons Szczesny is on his way to Juve:
‘Alisson? He’s fine, unfortunately he’s not played much, only in the Coppa Italia and in the Europa League.
‘But I think he’ll be a starter next season because Szczesny thinks he’s going to Juve.’
With Arsene Wenger set to continue with Petr Cech as his number one next season, Szczesny is more than likely to seal a move to Juventus this summer (should reports be accurate of course) having left Arsenal due to limited opportunities given to him by the Frenchman.
