Barcelona will not allow attacking midfielder Arda Turan to leave for less than €41m (£36m), according to AS.
Sources close to Josef Maria Bartomeu have told the Spanish newspaper that the Catalan club’s president will assess the best offer for the Turkish international, but at this time there is no concrete proposal on the table from any team.
Turkish publication Haberturk reported that Arsenal were close to a £25m deal for the 30 year old but that looks to be wide of the mark. Arda’s agent Ahmet Bulut did travel to Italy a month ago to speak to Inter Milan but so far no bid has been forthcoming from the Serie A club.
The midfielder’s former club Galatasaray are suggested as another option but the Turkish club won’t be able to afford Barca’s asking price or the player’s salary.
AS conclude that with China also a no-go because of the Chinese government increasing taxes on footballer’s wages in the country, a loan switch to another Spanish club is the likeliest possibility, with Barcelona seeking a €7million loan fee.
