Arsenal are stepping up their chase for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, according to Le10 Sport.
With Alexis Sanchez’s future at the club looking increasingly uncertain with no new contract having been agreed, manager Arsene Wenger is seeking a replacement if the Chilean does depart the Emirates. It looks as though Lemar will be the club’s priority signing, and Le10 Sport report that the Gunners have now been in contact with the player’s agent to inform them they will be making an offer to Monaco.
There remain doubts however over whether the Ligue One side will be willing to sell the 21 year old this summer. With the likely departure of Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea, following on from the sale of Bernardo Silva to Manchester City, there has been some questions about how many players Monaco will allow to leave the club.
Lemar had an excellent season for the French league champions, scoring 14 goals and providing 17 assists in 55 appearances.
