Arsenal’s head of international recruitment, Francis Cagigao, is being headhunted by several top clubs in Spain, Germany and South America, as well as a leading Premier League side.

Cagigao is one of Arsene Wenger’s closest aides and was the one who bought Cesc Fabregas to the club and also recommended Santi Cazorla, Hector Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez to the Arsenal manager.

Cagigao has a contract until summer 2020 at the Emirates, but Sky Sports claim a top-six Spanish club is targeting the 48-year-old for a director of football role, but face competition from several European outfits, including on of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals.

Cagigao started at Arsenal as a scout but has since become of Wenger’s key members of staff for identifying and acquiring young players for below market prices, and would be viewed as a huge blow to the Frenchman’s backroom staff should the Spaniard be snapped up this summer.
