Milan are refusing to pay left back Ricardo Rodriguez’s release clause, according to

Reports in the Italian press over the past few months have suggested that the Swiss had his heart set on a move to but it seems that an agreement for the player could be quite a way off.

and Chelsea have also been mentioned as possible destinations for the 24 year old, and this latest news could provide the London clubs with some hope that the full back could still be available for a summer move to the Premier League.

Rodriguez’s release clause is reportedly €22million (£19m) but sporting director is said to be prepared to only pay €15m (£13m) plus bonuses for the player.

The £6m difference is a significant amount, and with Rodriguez still contracted to until 2019, will certainly have to up their offer or could well be back in the reckoning for the defender.
