The Sun say that the La Liga club are ready to play the Chilean striker around £220,000-a-week, which is a significant increase on the current £160,000-a-week on offer from Arsenal.
The 28-year-old’s contract talks with the Gunners have been in a stalemate for a while and with under 18 months left on his current deal at the Emirates, a number of top European clubs have been linked with the former Barcelona man, including Atletico Madrid.
Atletico look resigned to losing the services of Antoine Griezmann at the end of the season to potentially Manchester United and see Sanchez as an ideal replacement. It’s believed that the 25-year-old has an £86 million release clause which United are ready to trigger – this would leave Atletico sufficient funds to make a move for Sanchez (supposedly a bid around £35m) as well as offer the striker high wages.
Arsenal fans would hate to see Sanchez leave, but it is become ever more likely to happen with each day that passes by. The Gunners will have to try and convince him that the Emirates is the place to be, but it will prove a difficult task with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Inter, Juventus and now Atletico all ready to offer him what he reportedly wants in the financial department.
