Arsene Wenger has been keeping tabs on Torino striker Andrea Belotti, but the player’s £50 million price tag is putting the Frenchman off.

The Sun claims the Gunners boss is eyeing up a future deal for the 23-year-old Italian international and wants to be notified in any other clubs make a move for him.

It’s thought Wenger was keen on signing him this month, but has been put off by the huge transfer fee placed on Belotti’s head.

Wenger will now apparently wait until the end of the season before making a move for Belotti, who has also attracted the attentions of Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid, with the Frenchman also believed to be holding back on making a move as he sees the return of Danny Welbeck as a boost to his attacking options.

Arsenal supposedly have a deal in place with Torino, as this source in Italy claim:

‘Arsenal have an option for Belotti from Torino, and he is available for 60m Euros.

‘That is to get him now before any other teams come in for him, but Arsenal will not pay that amount just yet.

‘They will wait to see what happens with him this season, and think about moving for him again in the summer.’

Belotti has been in fine goal-scoring form this season for Torino, netting 25 times in 51 games for the Italian club who sit in eighth place in Serie A.

With the return of Welbeck and services of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud at his disposal, Wenger is probably right holding back on making a move for Belotti, especially for £50 million.
