French newspaper L’Equipe are reporting that Juventus are preparing a €30m (or £25.7m) bid for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi. They say that the 28 year old’s release clause will mean the La Liga side will have no option but to allow the Frenchman to leave.

According to the report, Sevilla offered N’Zonzi a contract extension in January which would have seen his release clause increased to €50million but the player rejected the offer.

It means that Juve and Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City are able to sign the player if they activate the clause with a €30m bid.

N’Zonzi’s past experience of playing in England with Blackburn and Stoke City has led to speculation that he might return to the Premier League but it does seem that Juve are the keenest.

The Bianconeri were looking to sign Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg but the Belgian international reneged on a deal to join the Serie A champions and opted to join a Chinese club instead. It seems they see N’Zonzi as their best alternative.
