Buyout clause could halt Arsenal pursuit for teen sensation

|

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Nice defender Malang Sarr, reports Le 10 Sport.

The French website say that the Gunners were interested in the 17-year-old before the player signed his first professional deal but his performances for Nice in Ligue 1 has prompted continued scouting.

There is one big stumbling block to any future move going ahead however. Nice have already inserted a huge buyout clause into Sarr’s contract which is believed to be €50 million. It seems the French League leaders were certain of Sarr’s qualities even at such a young age.

Surprise package Nice have only lost once in the league all season, and lead Monaco at the top of Ligue One by two points heading into the winter break.

Sarr meanwhile has been a revelation this season, playing centre back in 23 matches already this campaign, helping Nice to keep ten clean sheets and ensuring the French club have a solid defensive foundation.
