Arsene Wenger is in no rush to make a decision over his future at Arsenal.

The Sun reports that the Frenchman, who is about to enter his final six months of his £160,000-a-week deal, will wait nearer to the end of the season before deciding on whether to extend his stay at the north London club, with Paris Saint-Germain poised to make a summer move.

The 67-year-old, who celebrated his 20th year in charge of the club this season, said on his future:

‘I will judge where I stand in spring and make my decision then.

‘The club is free to make their decision. We are in the same boat. I do not have any rights just because I have been here a long time.’

He went on to claim that delaying talks over a possible deal will not affect the club’s long-term plans:

‘I don’t think that is a problem. There are plenty of managers who have arrived at the end of their contract.

‘It has happened to me before. I sometimes signed for longer contracts in March or April.’

Wenger has come under-fire once again after the Gunners suffered successive defeats to Everton and Manchester City last week, and now sit in fourth place, nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.

The club’s next game is on Boxing day against West Brom at the Emirates and a win is a must to get back on track and keep in touch with other title rivals.
