Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa could be set to leave the Giuseppe Meazza in the January transfer window, according to his agent Wagner Ribeiro.

Barbosa, more commonly known by his nickname Gabigol, signed for the Italian club in the summer from Santos for a reported €29.5million but has failed to make an impression in Serie A. Under two coaches, Frank De Boer and Stefano Pioli, Gabigol has made just one solitary appearance for the club, as a 16 minute substitute against Bologna in the 1-1 draw back in September.

Talking to Brazilian radio station Radio Bandeirantes (via Goal.com), Ribeiro said Gabigol is frustrated by the lack of game time he is getting and would like to move clubs in January:

‘Gabriel is not happy at the moment. It’s not a case of being in conflict with his team-mates; the problem is that he never gets a chance to play. In January we want the situation resolved.’

Goal.com describe it as a “boost” for Arsenal who have tracked the Brazilian in the past. His lack of game time however would suggest he isn’t up to the standards required, considering Inter are struggling in mid-table in Serie A.

Las Palmas are believed to have offered a short-term loan offer to Inter for the player, and it could be that the 20-year-old could be plying his trade in Spain for the second half of the season to prove his quality.
